二相
The two forms, or characteristics, of the bhutatathata, universal and particular. The [lang id =1028]起信論 gives (a) [lang id =1028]淨智相 pure wisdom, cf. ālaya-vijñāna, out of whose primary condition arise (b) [lang id =1028]不思議用相 inconceivable, beneficial functions and uses. The same śāstra gives also a definition of the [lang id =1028]真如 as (a) [lang id =1028]同相 that all things, pure or impure, are fundamentally of the same universal, e.g. clay which is made into tiles; (b) [lang id =1028]異相 but display particular qualities, as affected by pure or impure causes, e.g. the tiles. Another definition, of the [lang id =1028]智度論 31, is (a) [lang id =1028]總相 universals, as impermanence; (b) [lang id =1028]別相 particulars, for though all things have the universal basis of impermanence they have particular qualities, e.g. earth-solidity, heat of fire, etc.

◆﹝出起信論﹞ 〔一、 智淨相〕, 謂依真如內熏之力, 及教法外熏之力, 如實修行, 滿足方便, 破識心生滅之相, 成純淨圓常之智, 是名智淨相。 〔二、 不思議業相〕, 謂依智淨相, 能作一切勝妙境界, 無量功德之相, 常無斷絕, 隨眾生根, 種種示現, 令得利益, 是名不思議業相。 ◆﹝出起信論﹞ 〔一、 同相〕, 謂染淨二法, 皆同真如性相。 譬如種種瓦器, 皆同微塵性相, 故名同相。 〔二、 異相〕, 謂真如平等之理, 隨染淨緣顯現一切差別之相, 故名異相。 ◆﹝出大智度論﹞ 〔一、 總相〕, 謂說世間一切有為之法, 皆是無常, 故名總相。 〔二、 別相〕, 謂諸法雖皆無常, 而各有別相。 如地有堅相, 水有濕相, 火有熱相, 風有動相, 各各不同, 故名別相。 ◆﹝舊名二識, 出宗鏡錄﹞ 〔一、 所緣境相〕, 謂心所緣色聲香味觸法六塵之境, 其相顯現于外, 是名所緣境相。 〔二、 能緣識相〕, 謂眼識乃至意識, 能緣六塵之境, 其相顯現于內, 是名能緣識相。 (眼識乃至意識者, 謂眼識、 耳識、 鼻識、 舌識、 身識、 意識也。 六塵者, 色塵、 聲塵、 香塵、 味塵、 觸塵、 法塵也。 )
